Die Chumbe-Insel ist ein privates Naturreservat, das von der Chumbe Island Coral Park Ltd. (CHICOP) aufgebaut und verwaltet wird. Es ist inzwischen ein weltberühmtes Modellprojekt für ein unberührtes Koralleninsel-Ökosystem.
Zum Reservat gehören ein Unterwasserpark, das erste Korallenriff-Schutzgebiet in Tanzania, und ein Waldreservat.
